Professor Takahashi, a representative of Kyoto University’s Inter-University Exchange Project (Africa), visited Yamaguchi University

On July 24, 2023, Professor Motoki Takahashi, a representative of Kyoto University’s Inter-University Exchange Project (Africa) and research fellow Dr. Hyomin Jung visited Yamaguchi University to support the beginning of the Project. At Yamaguchi University, Prof. Takahashi had discussions with Vice President Yuri Ishii and Assistant Vice President for International Relations Ikufumi Tomimoto on the issues of promoting university-wide global expansion. It was well understood that Yamaguchi University under the strong leadership of the president was ready and willing for strengthening of student exchanges with African universities.
In a meeting with Professor Daisuke Hayasaka of the Joint Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, who was currently leading the project, prospects of Yamaguchi University’s expansion of its collaboration with the veterinary faculties of both Japanese and African universities were discussed.
Finally, there was a meeting with students from Yamaguchi University who had traveled to Kenya for the Inter-University Exchange Project (Africa). They discussed the students’ impressions of this program and how their experiences in Kenya would affect their careers in the future.
