Support for matching between Tshwane Institute of Technology and Kyoto Seika University (March 1, 2023)

Kyoto University’s IAfP office supports the Tshwane Institute of Technology in South Africa, which aims to exchange students and increase research cooperation with Japanese universities.

On March 1, 2023, an online meeting was held between the Faculty of Art and Design of Tswane University of Technology in South Africa and Kyoto Seika University in Japan. Professor Nalini Moodley-Diar, Dean of the Tshwane University of Technology, Dr. Herman Botes, Head of the Visual Arts Department, Anna-Marie Jansen van Vuuren, Lecturer of the Department, and Irene Botes, Director of the International Cooperation Office of the Tshwane University of Technology participated in the meeting. From Kyoto Seika University, President Masato Sawada attended the meeting which was moderated by Professor Motoki Takahashi of Kyoto University the IAfP representative. Both universities provided an overview of their own activities and offered opinions on the future direction of exchange and collaboration. Consequently, the two universities agreed to promote future student exchanges, starting with direct visits by faculty and staff to know each other’s educational and research environments.
